Different people respond in different ways, which is why I've moderated my position. The reality is that some people do have bad physical reactions, and you won't know until you try.

hi have been taking this chapix for 8 weeks have had a few side effect such a little loss of sleep. Some nausea just after taking it but this only last 15 min and isnt bad at all. Have sore eyes at time but this you get used to. Have not be iratable nor angry upset or crazy in any way. All i can do is say its works great and i have stopped smoking completely and its well worth the risks. You just need to be on the ball with whats happening . for you wimps get a life

Thanks, Shell - that sounds like an especially bad reaction. I had a client recently who had tried Champix (and pretty much everything else), and he also felt ill and depressed on it, though not as bad as your father.

Philosophically, I have an issue with any artificial substance that messes with your brain chemistry unnecessarily. It just seems like a bad idea.

anyone reading do not take this drug!!!! i have just spent the last 3 weeks watching my father turn into a crying weeping basketcase who is depressed with insomnia and wants to just not wake up. Watching him smack his head against the walls telling us he's going crazy!. We were on suicide watch while convincing him to go to the doctors he is now off it and has had to go on a anti depressent which by no means has taken him back to his old self although has had some improvent. My poor mother is at her wits end and it is just heart wrenching to see how they are feeling, he was better off smoking!. All my research and looking at blog sites of other people talking bout it show that alot still months and even years later still are not themselves. Scary stuff it not worth the risk trying this!.
