I just got confirmation last night that I’ve been accepted by the New Zealand Hypnotherapists Registration Board (at the time I’m writing this, I’m not yet on their website, but I will be soon).
Registration isn’t compulsory for hypnotherapists in NZ, or anywhere else as far as I know. The way I explain it to people is that it’s a bit like being a Registered Master Builder – it gives your clients peace of mind that they’re going to someone who has reached a certain standard of training and experience and is accountable to an organization with a code of ethics that’s enforceable by disciplinary action.
I’m happy to have been accepted, and look forward to working with the Board.
