Mike Reeves-McMillan

I’m Mike Reeves-McMillan. In my early 20s, I had a serious stress breakdown that left me ill, depressed, and with a whole new insight into life. Since then I’ve been fascinated by how our minds and bodies work (and work together). Personal change is a passion for me, and as I’ve become more confident, healthier and happier over the years I’ve paid careful attention to what helped me get that way. Recently, I’ve taken on a new fitness challenge and learned improv to shake my life up for the better.

As a hypnotherapist and health coach, I work with people who want to change, not just to “fix” their lives but to lift them to a new level.

I think that getting people pleasantly relaxed and saying positive things to them to help them live the lives they long for has to be one of the best jobs in the world.

I also love providing resources, passing on key knowledge and simple techniques to improve health and wellbeing. I do that by creating online courses and providing one-on-one sessions in person and on Skype.

I keep it straightforward, simple and practical, and avoid a lot of theory and fluff (and the kind of vague feelgood encouragement you get from a lot of personal development material). You may have heard of SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. My focus is on providing step-by-step instructions so that your personal development goals can be all of those things, especially Specific.

It’s not just about superficial change, either. The really amazing thing is that by applying basic techniques consistently, you can change your life at a really deep level. Paying attention changes the state of your brain, but paying attention consistently changes the shape of your brain.

    I stumbled upon your blog while searching for something therapeutic and relaxing. Glad to have found this blog. Btw i’m a hypnotherapist myself, certified by NGH. I’m also a certified 7Path teacher.
    Its fascinating that we share something similar. I got into hypnosis after the doctors – even a specialist, couldn’t really cure my ‘illness’.
